Yes — some of the links on this site earn us a small commission. Nothing you buy through them costs you a penny more, and no company pays us to say nice things about their feeder. Here's exactly how it works.

The short version
When we point you toward a product — a feeder, a waterer, a bag of layer pellets — that link sometimes carries a tag that tells the retailer we sent you. If you buy, we get a small cut. You pay the normal price. That's the whole arrangement.

Flock Clock is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Amazon links on this site carry our tracking tag. The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your wallet — the price you see is the price you'd see in a private browsing window with no link from us at all.
Other programs
We occasionally link to hatcheries, feed suppliers, and course creators through their own affiliate programs. The same rules apply: no cost to you, and no product gets recommended because of what it pays.
How we decide what to recommend
This is the part that actually matters, so we'll be specific rather than reassuring.
- We recommend gear we'd put in our own run, or that keepers we trust have used through a full season. A season matters — plenty of things survive a week and fail in February.
- Commission rate is not a factor in ranking. When a cheaper product is the better answer, the cheaper product is the answer, and it usually pays us less.
- "Nothing here is worth buying" is a legitimate conclusion, and we've reached it before. Most flocks need far less equipment than the internet suggests.
- If we haven't used something ourselves, we say so rather than implying we have.
Where you'll see these links
Mostly inside our guides, where a specific product genuinely answers the question being asked. Any page carrying affiliate links says so on the page itself, not just down here. Our tools — the egg calculator and the feed quiz — give you their results regardless of whether you ever click a product link.
What this pays for
Hosting, the photography, and the time it takes to write guides that answer the question in the first line instead of making you scroll past six paragraphs of someone's childhood memories. If you've ever used one of our tools for free, affiliate commissions are the reason that was possible.
